Ms. Keela Gore
Biography
Keela Gore brings over two decades of experience in education having served in various roles. For the past twenty-one months, she has been the Assistant Principal at Andersen Elementary School in Yigo, Guam. Previously, she worked as a teacher and mentor with the Department of Defense in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions, and as a special education teacher at SHAPE Middle School in Europe.
Before joining the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), Ms. Gore was a leader in alternative education with the GA Department of Juvenile Justice, where she held positions such as acting principal, lead teacher, and school administrator. She worked with high school and middle school students with behavioral and emotional disabilities. Additionally, she served as a Special Education Teacher in Clayton County, GA, where she was the Department Chair and a mentor for new teachers. Ms. Gore also taught in the St. Louis Public School system, where she was an inclusion and resource teacher, work experience counselor, and part of the transition program. She has a proven track record of raising test scores and helping students in resource settings pass standardized assessments.
Ms. Gore holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Saint Louis University, a master’s degree in special education from Fontbonne University, and a second master’s degree in School Leadership from Lindenwood University in Missouri. She also earned an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum Instruction from Lincoln University in Harrogate, TN. Her certifications include elementary and middle grades ELA/Reading, Social Studies, K-12 School Leadership, and an endorsement as a Special Education Director.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Ms. Gore has one adult child. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering for cancer organizations, reading, swimming, and comedy.
